What Do You Like? Online Shopping or Store Shopping

  • September 7, 2017

I love to shop in store and don’t mind shopping online frequently too. Both these options provide me with the best deals, discounts and great fitting as well. However, many people believe that one kind of shopping experience is better than the other. Let’s first understand the advantages of both.

Why shop in store?

I like shopping at a store more than I like shopping online. It helps me in finding clothes that fit me perfectly. Many times, sizing in clothes becomes a major problem. I am a size 6 in some brands and a size 8 in others. The shape of the clothes also varies according to the brands which means that fitting is often always a huge problem for me. Therefore, I prefer to shop at the store.

I get to know how a color will look exactly on my skin and how something will fit me. I also get to check whether the fabric feels good against my skin. Not only this, I get to see exactly how I will look with some shoes and accessories on as well. I get to plan my looks quickly and easily in the store. However, it is not necessary that I will find matching outfits in the same store and may have to shop around a little. Another problem with store shopping is that you don’t get great discounts here.

Why shop online?

Online shopping is perfect for those who don’t have an entire day to dedicate to shopping. I often shop online while I am watching TV or during my work breaks. I can browse through hundreds of styles from different brands and check out if they are available in the sizes I want. The best thing about this kind of shopping is that it saves hours of your time. Not only this, some amazing discounts are available for online shoppers which store shoppers will often always miss.

The problem with online shopping is that you don’t get to wear the products and see if the shape, size and color suits you. You will have to wait for the delivery service to arrive at your doorstep to try clothes on. If not, you will have to go through an equally long process of returning the clothes and getting your money back. This is the part that I don’t enjoy about online shopping.

The happy middle

It is possible to achieve a happy middle when it comes to shopping. Many fashionistas window shop when in the store and try several different clothes. They check the size and color of the dress they want and note the markup prices as well. Later, they simply visit an online shopping website and get the same size and color at a discounted price. This brings the best of both worlds your way and helps you get the best fit while saving a few hundred dollars.

One kind of shopping becomes better than other depending on what you are buying. When I want something fit to a T or for a big occasion, I buy in store. Other times, I just buy online, ensuring that I stick to brands I know.
