The Best Path to Get Great Hair the Natural Way

  • April 14, 2017

Our hair is prone to absorb all the dust and pollution we have to face every day. This makes the hair dull and prone to breakage as well. If you want awesome hair, follow these simple tips and discover the path to a mane you can be proud of. Ready? Here we go.

Avoid heat styling

Heat styling cannot be completely avoided, but you should stay away from it for as long as possible. Although hot tools are really useful in taming unruly hair, yet overuse can extensively damage the hair quality. Instead of heat styling, you can choose steam rollers that tend to be gentler on the hair.  They never get too warm to damage the hair as steam passes through the foam attached to the roller. But, if the use of any hot tool is necessary, always spray a heat protectant before its application.

Keep the hair clean

It’s a no-brainer, but still, it’s the least prioritized necessity for great hair. People have also come up with fancy movements to prevent the use of shampoo in order to preserve naturally occurring oil on the scalp. In reality, if quality products are used, shampooing does not cause any hair damage.  Moreover, it benefits hair even after regular use like reducing split ends, providing moisture and polishing the hair.

According to experts, a daily wash is necessary for people living in polluted cities or humid areas and after performing exercise. If you stay in dry areas, rural regions or do not go out very often; you can skip 2-3 days or more in between shampoos, depending on how oily your hair gets. As a rule of thumb wash your hair every other day to avoid oily roots and dry ends.

Stay away from the sun

The UV rays from the sun not only ruins our skin but our hair too gets damaged. Hair does not show any immediate effect like sunburn, but eventually, it will become dull and lifeless. In order to save your hair from sun’s rays, apply a leave-in conditioner every second day.  The conditioner not only reflects the UV rays but also prevents wind and saltwater from entering the hair shaft. Take special care on a beach by applying conditioners every time your hair gets damp.

Get regular trims.

When growing out hair, most of us avoid any trims, but the opposite works better in adding length to the hair. When we avoid regular trims, the split ends move up in the hair shaft, thinning the hair fiber till it breaks. Make sure that you visit the parlor in every six to eight weeks to prevent split ends. Remember, split ends cannot be treated. Avoiding them can be your best bet for hair maintenance.

Take a healthy diet

All the above tips get wasted if your diet is out of control. Our body needs all the three macros in abundant quantity to ensure perfect hair quality. Prefer a diet rich in protein, Omega-3 fatty acids, iron, and zinc. This will boost your hair growth while preserving your hair from natural wear and tear. Consume chicken, fish and lean red meat to provide optimum nutrition to the hair follicles.

Great hair is guaranteed if you sincerely follow all these tips. In case of a medical condition always consult a doctor before applying any hair product.
